The Solve Critique Thread

Make the easiest block, not the one that you are most comfortable to make at this time. It seems you rarely make blocks with cross edges, instead you almost always make F2L pairs at the start like in CFOP. That is bad.

Also, improve your TPS while maintaining your good look-ahead.

Thanks for the advice.
Do you think I should work on EOLine, F2L, or last layer the most right now? Or some combination of the 3? Or just full solves?

I searched on youtube how to fix a broken PanShi corner since lots were breaking and mine had just snapped off, but i didnt find anything, so i decided to make one myself, it works great for me and i would like to see if people find it helpful as well.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WuKt0CwRjuE is the video, tell me what you think guys :)

I am at work right now, so I am looking foward to viewing this video later tonight!

A better average than the one a posted a little while ago, and a better camera angle also.
Tips? Thank you.

Didn't know it was ZZ until the second solve lol. But definitely turn faster during LL, and on the fourth solve you could have forced an OLL skip into Jperm or possibly LL skip, you've gotta look out for stuff like that. You're turning slowly during F2L, which is good, but you have to take advantage to lookahead. You still pause too often.

Got a better average on video.
It's sub 15. But would like a list of things done well and things that are done bad.
And what i can do to improve the goods and bad things.

Dang.... That last layer...
Me so jelly...

lol thanks. Your solves aren't that bad too, I like your rhythm, nice and steady. Definitely try to up your speed now, since you're comfortable with looking ahead. And recognise and execute LL faster. Learn to do them from multiple sides too.

But do I really need to turn faster? I'm working on the last layer by drilling algs and doing last f2l pair and last layer scrambles.
I feel like I might be turning faster than I should. Also.. I'm not sure if I can turn faster...

No, you should definitely speed up during LL. Maybe slow down slightly on OLL to manipulate/predict, but rush that PLL, it's the last step anyway. That will only help you partially though; F2L is where even Faz can still improve.

Sounds like a lingyun. Is it?

I like dem solves :O I agree with awesomecuber, those last layers...

Good ear sir. The halfbright is a Guhong though. Thanks haha :3

No wait, it's actually a Lunhui. I'm not even sure anymore D:

Oh, okay. I'm working on my LL I believe that's really is what is holding me behind from sub 15 averages
Any tips on my f2l I fill like I use a bit to many rotations.

haha too many cubes to count?

while I'm at it, could someone critique this a bit? Thanks:
Well, you're way better than me, but I noticed that your f2l recognition could be a little faster. I'm no better, but I think that would speed you up a bit.
anyway, my turn :D. Can someone give me some feedback here? I'm already aware that I should make my recognition better in general, and that I should learn the last couple g perms lol. anyway , thanks!

Too much cube rotation. And at PLL you AUF and then rotate cube then execute alg. That's terrible. Use U/U' turns to get it to the right angle for alg execution and then AUF afterwards.
