What are the best methods for solving 1-handed? Right now I use Petrus and I feel as though it would be good, since after getting a 2x2x3 you just use U and R turns. But of course, I'm pretty new to cubing and could possibly be wrong. Please enlighten me. Thank you.

Most consider zz pretty good because of the R, U, L F2L. Ssome like the other methods. If I were to list the big four in oh solving ability, I'd probably say zz, petrus, cfop, roux.

Re: One-Handed Solving

Kirjava would not like that statement lol. Roux is actually quite nice for 1h, just gotta use the table to help with M slice

I love how nobody even considers using a method unless some other person is fast at it. It makes it so obvious why CFOP is most common method.

I am not denying it is the best method, no am I saying so. I believe there's no best method. Yet.

That's not quite true. After 2x2x3 you need to do EO. Then finishing F2L is indeed <R,U>. Then the LL will only be <R,U> if you get a CP skip (i.e. 1/6 chance). I don't think Petrus as good as CFOP, ZZ and Roux for normal speedsolving and I think it's even worse for OH because the blocks require way too many awkward face combinations and then EO isn't pleasant either. The slightly-better-than-CFOP finish F2L and LL steps really don't make up for the earlier problems.

petrus is a dream if you're CN, sticking to a particular orientation yes it will be a bit more awkward to do, but color neutral-wise, petrus is pretty nice actually, or so i've heard

From my experience, I used cfop, I'm not that good with OH, but I did looked up ZZ method few days ago, it is a very OH friendly method I would say. I might explore it in depth when I have time or care enough to improve my OH through switching.

I agree. My OH times are quite good (around 29 seconds) compared to my 3x3 times (23 seconds) and I don't even put very much effort into it.
