That wasn't a very bad review at all. You just don't have a reviewers voice but it is nice to see an experienced cuber review this.

The cube looks very nice and it looks much easier to use than the v-cube. I don't if you have disassembled the core but if so are the springs super hard? That was the problem with the 6x6.

Can't wait to get this when it's on cube depot or some store like that.

BTW hooray for M-slicer!

"The 8x8 is probably my favorite to stare at" :p Yeah, cubing is a geeky hobby.

Great review though, I will definitely buy one....once I have the money of course. My concern was that it would lock up more + worse than the V-cube, but seeing as it doesn't appear to be that way, I will most likely buy this over the V-cube.

It's already on iCubeMart, with the low low cost of $37-ish dollars! (Not including shipping) By the way, it's listed as the shengshou (4+3)x(4+3) not shengshou 7x7, but it's the same thing.

...are the springs super hard? That was the problem with the 6x6. ...

Yes, they sadly are super hard and they are like 1.5 the size of a normal spring, so you cant just replace them with Dayan springs or something. I'm currently experimenting with springs and such though to see what may help though.

Let me know if anyone has any ideas please...I really think new springs would help this cube a little like it did to the 6x6.

An idea I think would work is stretching the springs on one side so they become the hardness of the Dayan springs then cut to the appropriate length. I am not sure if this would work, if you want to try this I would suggest doing it using one of the old shenshou 6x6 springs and see if you can get it to be like Dayan.

IIRC, Ron said that, as soon as a good cubical 7x7x7 is widely used, the pillowed ones won't be competition-legal anymore.

It's a bit unfair if you ask me, but whatever...I'd rather that 7x7 remains an exception for that no-pillowed-cubes rule.

anyway, nice review and I'll get this cube soon :)
