Fridrich or Roux?

I SAID MOST. MOST. There's always that guy that thinks he's a real waffle that when he gets out of bed he thinks it's a waffle iron and proceeds to grab syrup and pour it all over himself. (but that's when I did a lot of drugs)

The words of poet. Especially the part of the unseen.

I currently use CFOP, but I'm thinking about Roux. I've done it before and I really like it, and I think I might make the switch. The only thing that stops me is OH. How the heck do you do fast M turns with one hand?!? I use the <RU> H-perm for OH atm, and I could do <rRU> stuff for but that's kind of cheating for Roux... any tips? I'm seriously considering switching, especially as since I broke my hand, I've done practically zilch 2h solves, so I did a few the other day and they took 27-33s, not 22 which is what I averaged. Before I broke my hand, my Roux took 28-38s.. I figure if I'm gonna switch, I might as well do it now. But M moves for OH? HELP?!

Don't get sucked into the band wagon. CFOP is standard. Roux requires more thinking. CFOP is easy to transition into. Roux has a lot of m slicing. Your choice...

I can add to that.
Choose CFOP if you:
  • Think you can memorise 81+ algs (to be precise)
  • Want a method that you can transition to at your own pace
  • Want to use the most popular method
  • Prefer algs over intuitive methods
Choose Roux if you:
  • Prefer intuitive methods over algs
  • Like using M slices
  • Want a method where you can learn a few tricks to get faster
  • Are willing to commit a lot of time
Take your pick.

Yeah, the thing that annoys me about Roux is how I have to commit time to it. If I'd've just chosen CFOP instead I wouldn't have to invest any time in getting faster.

TIL Waterman users exist.
I think I there are 3 people on speedsolving that use an advanced corners first method.

I'm a bit curious...what other methods have you tried?

I've had Petrus and Fridrich as my main methods. I actually used Fridrich until I was sub-20. I've also used Roux, and a few beginner methods.
