J perm question....

That J perm sucks. It makes the J into an N perm. I just use Antisune+Niklas or Niklas+Sune. Both would cancel the moves, so it's really a 11 move alg. Very fast, I get get about 1.7 second on one view and 2.3 on the other view. I think Erik can sub-1 on it.

here's mine, it just feels really cool to perform, and I think it can be sub-1 with enough practice

L' U R' (f) R2 U R' U' R2 U (f') R U'
stuff in ()s are cube rotations, but they don't really happen....

start out with the left hand kind of under the cube and the thumb on the middle sticker of the F face. flick the L' with your left index finger and do the cube rotation while doing the R' turn. the middle bit can be performed without any regrips, so w00t. then the last 2 turns are done with the thumb, the cube rotation is just an approximation.

In standard notation f means a dual slice turn of the front and middle slices in the same rotation that f would move. I think it would be understandable to more people if you notated it as z.

For it to be a cube rotation, use []'s, not ()'s.

heh, sorry I've just always used the Japanese notation because it makes more sense to me. here it is in standard for everybody who's picky.

L' U R' [z] R2 U R' U' R2 U [z'] R U'

R' U2 R U R' U2 L U' R U L'

I like this one. It's fairly efficient and fast. I got that one from a video Harris Chan made, that's the one he uses, though he does it faster than should really be possible, haha.

T was one of my favorite perms and I use (R U R' U') (R' F R2 U' R' U') (R U R' F') like everyone else. My friend blgentry showed me that (R U R' F') (R U R' U') (R' F R2 U' R' U') was a J perm and I switched to that after practicing it about five times. :-)

We're talking about the other J perm.
Oh yea, the best T perm ever = R2 u' R2' U R2 y R2' u R2 U' R2' U'

yeah brunson, that is a great j perm, but like sloths said, we're talking about the other one. i agree with your assessment though, it should be even fast than the t perm, but my times are about even with them.

as for that alternative t perm, i've never actually seen that one, but that is interesting. i've tried a few times here but i'm not a big fan of cube rotations if i can avoid it but that is certainly extremely efficient in terms of move count.
