Cubing Club Ideas and Discussion

I have it up by the way. It will only be available if you have the link, so PM me if you're interested

Really? K.

Apperently my mom doesnt want me to buy one of each cubes atm (of course), but I will still definitely be ordering in bulk when the time comes. So you sorta did it early for nothing, but you would have had to done that some time or other anyway. I just want to confirm that the 2nd stackmat timer is not a KO, since I was thinking about ordering it with the mini mat, and a shengshou 5x5. I heard that it is a KO on lightake, so I wanted to know for sure. Thanks again!

The only way I can think of making it not seem so nerdy is to get as many people interested as you can in it. They don't necessarily have to become full-fledged members, but just come to learn how to solve the cube. You will have to solve it in public occasionally so people see it. If someone asks you how you do that, tell them to come to your class/club and you can show them. Tell them to bring a friend so they aren't afraid of being inaugurated into nerdom by themself. The more no strings attached you come across, the more likely they will be to come. If you see that person in the hallway later on, just remind them. If your whole group is encouraging people to come, slowly you will get people coming. The more people that come, the more acceptable it will become.

It's a true second gen, so no output at all. I actually have to update it because I'm out of true 1st gens. I'm trying to get ones with a working output. I am actually going to lower the price on the timer soon.

The only time I really get to cube (at my school atleast) is at the very end of the day after we are packed up, and waiting to leave to go to the busses. So I can only show my class, but my friend is pretty much doing the same thing, since he can solve it too. Since I am currently in the gifted program (idk if you know what it is, its not too important, just an extra class for the people that are "ahead" in school. Not to be cocky.), and my gifted teacher said that she would (gladly) be the teacher who basically watches over the club, and helps, etc. You always need a teacher to do that at my school.

So I can't really do that, but it would be a good idea if I had more time to cube in school.

What I do is bring my cube with me everywhere, and whenever I get the chance, it's in my hands and spinning around. If you're in the lunch line, (and you don't have mean teachers like me that take it away :( ) you can do it there.

They take it away in lunch time? Wow...
In my school, no one took away my cube at lunch.

We hardly have time to eat for lunch, and i am always in the salad bar line for lunch which is reeeeaaaalllyy small, so no time to do it there. Alrhough my history teacher said i could bring it in when i told her about it. But she hasnt said anything since, so im not gonna bring it *yet*.

How should I find out who wants to buy cubes? I was thinking i would give out a slip of paper with choices for 2x2, 3x3, and 4x4. Then thy bring in the correct amount of money, and i order everything in bulk. But does anyone have an easier or better idea?

I am really surprised since you and ur two friends (i forgt their names, but they were at hackely) cube. Are you in highschool yet? People probably think theyre too old, i guess?

Yup, I started high school a few days back, and we are all going to different high schools, all 9 cubers from my middle school are going to different high schools lol

1) I have started a club in grade 8.
2) Don't get anyone under grade 7
3) Dan Brown method is great for LL.
4) Maru is a great starter cube.

I think he's decided that a YJ Finhop is what he's getting :p It's the cheapest he can find that is decent (I think) at $4 each
