Hi, im new to this....
but if I were to take part in a competition, would I be allowed to take in a sheet with a few algorithms on in case i forget any while solving???? is this allowed????!!!1 :confused::confused:

You can take them to a competition, but not use them for official solves. Also, it isn't recommended to learn new algorithms within ~2 weeks of a competition because you might mess up an alg in an official solve and end up with a time slower than what it would have been without using that alg.

I find it helpful to learn algs up the 2 days before the competition.

although I usually only leave the easy ones until then...

I memorized 3 OH PLL algorithms while I was going to the Park Ridge comp...

This is probably not a good idea though.

Please use this thread for simple questions like this.

No, you cannot use a sheet with algorithms on it. Also, this might be the first time I see a legit 1 paired with !s unless this is a joke post/spam.

no this isn't a joke, I am just genuinely wondering. ive recently really got into speed cubing, and so am new to all of this.
another question I have is: are there any small local competitions anywhere, as on the WCA it only shows the major ones, which i wouldn't do very well in :/ ?????

the WCA shows all WCA-official tournaments, small and large. There are occasionally unofficial tournaments, but you'd just have to get lucky and hear about one near you.
