9e1) The decision to add or remove an event is made by the WCA Board, based on feedback by the community.
Since community wanted 7x7 as an official event, WCA Board added it. So adding an event and banning the puzzle used for this event would be complete nonsense.

An order I placed for the lol last week. I normally only order cubes that I think might be useful to the community, ie, "the hyped kit". But I was getting bored of just getting the mainstream stuff so...Hongtianpao...Anybody got it? It seems to be a dressed up 3x3x3 (and sounds like a SFII special move).

Yeah, the Mf8 minx is mainstream, but this is the "glow in the dark" one...I know people...spend too much cash on cubes...*sigh*...

7x7 cannot be built unless pillowed because the pieces will have less support when spinning the layers because of the huge surface area of each layer

If a non-pillowed 17x17x17 is possible, then why not a non-pillowed 7x7x7?
