I would do quick 2nd gen. F and B require shifting my hand position.

I would use F' U' F quite simply because it allows better lookahead for OLL
Yeah, but they all do the exact same thing and have the exact same result. It isn't like there is a difference between them, they're all just joining a pair the same way.
Edit: Also, doing F' U' F does NOT affect edge orientation.
F' U' F does affect orientation. The FR and UL edges are bad.
Edit: Actually while solving EO for ZZ, F' U' F could be used to solve the last two bad edges. Hence it does affect EO.
Doing F/B reverses the orientation of the edges specifically on that face.
Please show me to take a solved cube and, with <F,U>, generate a last layer case in which the edges are not oriented.
Perform the trigger 3 times with green/blue front and white/yellow up. See how the two edges I mentioned are both L/R colors? That means they are not oriented. There for, performing the trigger once more will orient those edges.
Another way to tell that the edges are bad, is that you can't solve them without using a F/B turn.
Read my above post. And believe me I understand ZZ perfectly well thank you.
His point was valid aswell, but I basically said that F' U' F does affect EO in ZZ, he replied that it doesn't affect EO at all, which it doesn't.^ Yeah this uberCuber guy always trys to start fights and bends his interpretation to hide failure xD
and for me...
400: 56, 800: 2:06, 1600: 4:43
But I still have 2 more years xD

It's using only two side to accomplish something. such as <F,U>.Anyway, isn't 2nd gen a 4x4 edge pairing method?
