Did I choose correctly?

So as of now, all I own is a heavily modded Rubik's 3x3. Its actually surprisingly good after the mods I did, for being store bought. Anyway, I decided to buy some real puzzles.

I got a Lan Lan 2x2 White, Guhong 6-Color, Guhong White, and a Shengshou 4x4 White.
I'd like to know if I made any bad decisions on cubes... They haven't shipped yet, so I can cancel the individual items if necessary. Is there any better 2x2-4x4 that I should have gotten instead?

Also, I would also like to know what sizes of Cubesmith stickers I should buy. As I realized there are two sizes of 2x2 and 3x3 stickers. I am also considering getting tiles instead, but I noticed it says the "Bright" tile sets say specifically "Light orange" instead of fluorescent. And they even have fluorescent orange in the individual tile section. What is up with that, considering the bright [sticker] sets have fluorescent orange? And the pictures for those tile sets are non-existant. I actually prefer the Bright set as it is, because I have it on my current 3x3.
Finally, would black as a replacement to yellow, be good on white cubes? If anyone has a cube with white opposite black, i'd appreciate it if you could take a picture, or post a link to a video you know of, as I was not able to find a picture nor a video of such a color setup.

Thanx in advance for your help,

~Mango

You chose fine, regular sized cubesmith stickers are fine.

As far as the light/fluorescent orange set up, IDK. That's a question you should ask the owner of cubesmith himself.
The rest of your inquiry is totally up for you to decide. Test out black stickers on a cube and see if you like it.
Everything mostly comes to personal preference.

The ShengShou isn't "Bad" is it? I mean, the Dayan + MF8 4x4 is over twice what I paid for the ShengShou, and I'm not going to be the fastest 4x4 solver so, it doesn't need to be perfect...

LOL How long did it take you to find that? >.<
I'm not much into competitions, so that's not even a factor.
And why is it not legal? Because you can see a small bit of the other side of the piece?
As long as its not a cube that solves itself, anything should be legal... o.o

The shengshou is fine if your not to fast, as you get faster, do the edge mod to help with the pops. You don;t need to spend the extra money on a dayan+mf8 unless you're a serious 4x4 solver.

Well if you think about it, it would only make you faster... Just as using a Diy makes you faster than with a store bought. Since its available to everyone, and is just as much as other cubes...
Its like if you are a BMX racer, you buy the best bike if you want race to the best of your ability. And also, wouldn't that make plastic tiled cubes unusable in competition as well?

The 6 color GuHong is amazing. Beats all others if you ask me: easier recognition, no sticker peeling, easier cleaning and (mine) is faster and pop less than my white pom and black abs versions. The only downside is that it looks kinda "cheap" and "toy-like" compared to stickered versions.

Great buy.

I haven't seen one Bad review of the ShengShou on youtube... And convinsa even said she loves it the most over the maru and the dayan... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AMY5DM8pnjQ

Yeah, well, that's Convinsa's opinion. Absolutely nothing against her at all, but she's not the BEST cuber in the world. The Dayan is WAYYYY better than Sheng Shou. You get what you pay for.

personal preference...

My dayan is still slow, and if I loosen it, it pops.

My shengshou on the other hand is pretty fast, a nice, clicky feel, and fits in my hand better. Does lock up a little, but probably less than dayan, even though dayan cuts much better. Oh and what a bump...

The reason the colored Gu Hong is illegal in comp is because while you're turning, you can see what color is on the other half of the middle edges. That's why they made the Gans cube. It's a colored cube with shells over the pieces.

Here's what you need to do with your Dayan:
Only tension the 3 main screws on the 2x2 core. Lube the 2x2 core. Then TIGHTEN the ball shells ALL THE WAY. Your cube should be amazing.
