Hi I really want to start a new cubing store, but dont have any idea how i'm going to start. There are some questions that I really want you guys' helps
1) Where can I stock the cubes from?? Do I have to contact the chinese guys to buy the cubes and retail them??
2) Any suggestion for a good store name??
3) What is the best website that helps you create a webstore whether you pay or not?
4) How much budget should I expect to start the shop??
5) In what way should I advertise my shop??
6) Can I do this business while I go to highschool?? (I will be attending boarding school)
7) What kinds of cubes should I stock??

Going to boarding school sounds like it would be problematic... you'd have to be running your business from the school grounds, which you may not be allowed to do.

Yea, the only reason I could see another store being successful is if you can offer something that the other stores cant. If you can't do that, then why would anyone buy from you rather than from other more established stores?

If it would be close to me I would consider that shop before the america based ones, but since you live in america I'm guessing it will be america based, no point in making it then if you dont offer more than just puzzles, have you considered stocking equipment for other hobbies besides cubing?

Starting a cube store is a lot tougher than you think. I opened Puzzle Addictions physically and it failed for a few reasons. I did gain a lot of knowledge from my mistakes and decisions.

From your questions it looks like you're not ready to plan a store. You will need guidance solely from someone that runs a business like this (It's likely not going to happen now because the market is still fairly small). Now I am considering franchising in 1-2 years depending on my income and growth of my store. As I get more busy and involved with future business plans I will need someone to help ship orders, and that someone will make money as well.

And like others are asking "What will you provide that's different than other stores?"

I think that would make it difficult to make a profit when you are starting out, or it could go marvelously well. Maybe you could do a points system where certain products give you a certain number of points, and items can be purchased with X number of points(different amounts for some products). It would be kind of like the LT point system, but not as useless.

How would you set up a cubeing shop ?

I woke up thinking about setting up a cubing shop and I know you need to have a website but how and where would you get the cubes?
