What is Rubik's Wrist

What is Rubik's wrist? From what I think it is, I think it's when you play your Rubik's Cube too much and your wrist hurts and is damaged or something. Am I right? And some people wear wrist pads? Are those specifically designed for Rubik's Wrist or just so wrist pads for sports? Where do you by them? How do they protect you?

Really I think you'd need to be cubing for a long extended period of time to get a wrist injury like that. I don't think there are specifically designed wrist pads for cubing.

Oh okay because I saw a show on youtube when Dan Knights solved 100 cubes in an hour and he had some wrist pads for "Rubik's Wrist"

It's on his youtube channel and his youtube account is "danknights"

Yea, I saw Dan Knights' wrist pads too. I think they were just arm bands used in sports like tennis and basketball. But they are typically used to wipe sweat from your forehead/prevent sweat from rolling onto your hands.

Unless you work up a sweat while cubing, I don't think they'd be very effective. But maybe Dan has found they prove useful.

(Or perhaps he was using something different altogether.)

What are the signs of the 2 cubing injuries/conditions? I've read on how to prevent it and I can't find anymore information on Rubik's wrist or cubist thumb.

There are no signs. But there are symptoms. I've had both of these conditions and they don't last a day or 2. They last about a week or 2. You can tell if you have it simply by holding the cube. If it hurts your thumb to hold it while solving, like a charliehorse or a thumb cramp, then you have cubist thumb. If you get the same feeling in your wrist, you have Rubik's wrist. I hope this helps.
