What algorithm could I use instead of F (R U R' U') F'?

better than
inserting the pair,
doing a dot OLL,
than PLL

those "5 extra moves" makes move count lower, and you have a better OLL

Really? I thought most people hate dot OLLs
I can only speak for myself. I love doing them even now. I recall when I was using a 2 oll , I became frustrated that the dot olls cost me an additional 3 seconds ( back then, I was far slower than I am now). So I learned them , and they became 1 olls and I'd shed 3 seconds ( back then, sub 40 FTW!).

They are mostly nubs. And some are slow, I never said all are fast. 90% of the time I use partial edge control to avoid this, but as rpotts showed, sometimes during a solve I never have the chance to do edge control.
And no, you wouldn't save moves by getting a different OLL most of the time.

I use F R U R' U' F' for the line and R' U' F' U F R for the L, because I didn't like the sound of double layer turns. For dot, either one after the other.
Nice and simple two-look OLL algs.
