I just realized this yesterday, But somehow my time for the 4x4x4 event at the captain's cove on staurday is A WHOLE MINUTE OFF!!!!! My correct time was 2:49.31 but it was scored as 3:49.31. I know this is true because I got that 4x4x4 solve on video and the display said 2:49. What can I do about this? Hey Peter Greenwood, do you still have the time sheets from the competition? I'm sure the judge had sloppy handwriting or something.
It brings me down in the rankings about a hundred places so this is really important to me!

**EDIT I just looked at the video and it's actually a 2:29.31 with a +2!!

11f) The main judge and WCA delegate must not support their decisions with video or photograph analysis.

But this doesn't apply here. Mistakes happen some times. Often in multi because of the confusing score parsing. Anyway, just e-mail Ron and tell him what you got, you shouldn't need any proof. I think I've done this on more than one occation.

That's because Alex isn't contacting the main judge or the WCA delegate anyway.

If the score card thingy with the time on it says something like "2:29.31 +2" then it can be changed. But if it says just "3:49.31" then it can't be changed. The video will not be of any help.

This happened to me once in one of my OH solves(I think it was OH) at CC last year. I tried contacting Ron and he said he couldn't do anything about it, even though i had a video of it, because the score card said the time that was on the results.

That's odd phrasing. Does it mean that the judge and delegate are not allowed to support their decisions ("must not"), or that the aren't required to do so because their decisions are final no matter what ("need not").

I think I know what happened. Bob Burton just emailed me back clearing this all up. Instead of my solve being scored as 2 minutes and 29 seconds i.e. 2:29.31, it was scored as 229 seconds i.e. 229.31. This makes sense because 229 seconds equals 3:49. Hopefully this will be cleared up by the end of the week. :D

Hi Alex,

In the future, competitors should always wait around and see what the judge writes on the score sheet. I'm not saying that you didn't do this. Very likely, the error could have happened at the data entry point.

But yes, when you compete, don't just leave your cube and walk off. Watch what the judge writes, and if you aren't happy with their handwriting, make them write it again.
