So I modified my v cube 5, but it is still clicking on the outsides. I used an exacto knife, and sandpaper (150). Should I keep cutting it down till it works, or something else...?

There should be some clickiness but this lessens as you break in the cube after you have completed the mod. It'll never be zomg smooth, at least I don't think it will be, correct me if anyone has an insanely smooth V-5, but it should get smoother as you go. I'd say that right now my outer layers feel similar to my GuHong before I did the 48-point edge mod to it.

How long have you had it? I suggest breaking it in first, then doing the mod. I myself actually believe the mod is pointless.

It doesn't do anything to improve the performance of the cube but some people just don't like the feel of it. I'm fine with clicky cubes but before the mod it's not clicky it just feels bumpy. I found that obnoxious. If you're okay with the cubes feel then yes, it is pointless. But if you're not and you want to make it smoother it's not pointless. I do 5x5 more now because I like it's feel better.

I sanded it down more, and it is way better now. Not perfecto, and it sill needs to be broken in. Should I spray it with silicone?

Yes, it does. I would recommend Jig-a-Loo, but any works fine really. Can't wait to get my hands on a can, I'm just using Maru now, and it wears out fast.
