How's it guys

I have an Eastsheen 4x4x4. It's SO fast and i love the cube. The only gripe i have is that it locks up quite easily and it's no good at cutting corners. How can i go about modifying this cube to fix these issues?

lol yeah, thats pretty much an eastsheen. nothing much u can do but learn to turn more precisely (sorry :P). dont worry, u can still get good times (though my 3x3 part on it is just terrible) but yeah, its not the best with corners. if u really want i guess u could sand it though ive never actually seen anyone do it and it would be the biggest pain to assemble again (as in its probably not worth it)

Well it depends my new re-tooled rubiks is crap it pops sometimes and locks up like crazy but its pretty loose, but some people have really good rubiks 4x4 preferably the older ones, but ES are good, its my primary 4x4 for speedsolving but like you said it locks up a bit, i myself need to get another rubiks 4x4.

Maybe you can break in the Eastsheen 4x4 so it cuts corners? I don't know, breaking in helped my Rubik's Brand 3x3 cut corners. Maybe it'll work on the Eastsheen 4x4? (I've actually never tried but this is an educated guess)

Maybe I should adjust my formula.

LOTS OF LUBE + ES 4x4 + Lots of solves = :D

You don't really need to do anything else to "break it in" besides just solving it. ES's are DIY quality unlike normal rubik's brand cubes. Meaning, they don't have many spots that are not smooth.

Just follow the formula and you will be fine :)

When I meant breaking the cube in, I meant breaking it in a way it cuts corners better. If you watched Pestvic's breaking in video on YouTube, he makes his 3x3 a lot faster an makes it cuts corners. I guess the cutting corners part will wok on an Eastsheen 4x4.

That's what i meant when I just said "You don't really need to do anything else to "break it in" besides just solving it." You don't need to do that.

He even says at the end "You don't really need to do this on DIY's" and ES 4x4 cubes are DIY quality.

Okay whatever. I've asked about if East sheens were DIY quality in a nother post, and I guess I found my answer.

I don't want to talk about this anymore, as you have a point, and I don't want to start another argument that I've had with other people. Thanks for the information!

you might want to try lubing it but as you break it in it should get better and as you get used to the cube you should know how to prescisly turn it.
