On topic, Maru is more expensive but definitely worth the price. They feel different and I personally like the Maru because it cuts corners better. I get a lot of lockups with qj during centres.

I recommend maru. mini QJ has better slices but outer layers are so much better on maru.

Also, what do you have against Maru? I don't personally own one, but it definately surpasses the mini QJ. At least mine, lol.

most people would like the maru better, but it's a personal preference thing. If you set the tensions loose enough (it's not that loose, though), or get lucky enough, after a few solves of breaking in the QJ, it's an awesome cube

Would it maybe be better if he waited for the DaYan? I'm also looking into a new 4x4 but I don't want to drop the money for a Maru only to have it be obslolete in two weeks. Does anyone know if it will be released soon? Like, within the next 1-2 weeks?

I was told it will not be released for at least another month
I've been to hknowstore and looked at the Da Yan 4x4. They say there are no hidden layers, and it has springs in it. Then I went to witeden and found out that it's sort of like a ball mech. the center caps are removable, the edge and corner pieces are the same as the ball mech pieces, but I'm not sure about the centers. There are no gaps for the centers to move, so I wonder what it could be. Hope it's great, and hope someone makes a review for it!

The qj you gave me never got better it got looser and looser and pops almost every time I use it.
