I currently use Fridrich and average 28-ish. I was wondering how long more experienced cubers' F2L takes compared to their LL. Right now, I have 20 second F2L and 8 second last layer, so a 5:2 ratio. Is it similar for you guys or is it completely different?

If I take L9P (CLS + PLL) for LL, about 11:5.

Makes about 2:1.

EDIT:
12 half-apathetic attempts on a not-so-great cube:

Splits:
{8.44, 2.27}, {7.93, 5.45}, {8.95, 5.92}, {12.76, 5.56}, {11.27, 3.78}, {13.63, 6.14}, {11.05, 6.13}, {9.1, 6.57}, {12.78, 3.89}, {10.19, 4.57}, {12.42, 18.29}, {9.99, 4.21}

Ratios:
(3.71806 PLL skip), 1.45505, 1.51182, 2.29496, 2.98148, 2.21987, 1.80261, 1.38508, 3.28535, 2.22976, (0.67906 CLS mistake), 2.37292

Makes 2.15 average. :-)

The middle ten ratios give averages of 10.77 and 5.22 :-)

Interestingly enough, I was asking the same thing on IRC last night :P

Here are my times for a few solves:

15:9
15:8
18:7
18:10
16:8
14:12
16:8
Average: 16:~9

I should probably work on my F2L times a bit too. Slightly (very slightly) OT: What are people's ratios of Cross:F2L?

how about we do LL to whole solve ratio and leave it as a decimal. mine is about 0.3.

I decided to try it using this timer:
http://rubiks.tw/timer/timer.php

Average of 10:
cross: 4.084
F2L (this really means the rest of the F2L): 16.087
OLL: 6.867
PLL: 5.998
Total: 33.008

Ratio F2L to LL is 20.171:12.865.

LL to whole solve ratio is 0.390.

Clearly, I just stink in general, but this seems to indicate I'm particularly bad at the LL. (I always sort of suspected that.) And the worst part is that I know all the OLLs and I still have this problem. :)

It is true that the weirdness of hitting the spacebar in the middle of the solve messes you up, but this isn't that far off of a normal average for me (and it felt fairly typical), so I doubt it's too inaccurate. I'd like to think it was a little slow for me, though.

Sorry if I was unclear - I was just saying that the timer I was using counts the F2L as being the rest of the F2L besides the cross. When I did my calculations after that I rolled the timer's F2L and cross numbers together, since I consider them together to be the F2L.

This struck me as funny. 30 seconds and we consider ourselves "stinking" no good...I guess being on this site sets the bar pretty high. I too think the same way so it isn't just you.

Here's 2c from someone less experienced. I'm averaging just over 45s, and my F2L averages about 29s. So it's just about a 2:1 ratio of F2L:LL.

I think my main problem is not looking ahead during my F2L. I'd really like to get that 29s down to sub-20s.
