Title. I don't care if I lose, but I only average ~45sec. I doubt I'd be willing to go to a big competition like nationals with those times on the 1% chance that the opportunity presents itself, but for smaller competitions in the future, I might consider going.

Well there are more than 1 reason to go to competitions, have fun , learn from others , meet other cubers ,break your own personal record

What do you like to do?

Some reasons and answers
Have fun ;go to competitions and have fun with other cubers
Learn form others; go to competitions and learn from others
break your own personal record; go to competitions and try to break you PB

If you're worried about having embarrassing times or something, I would just recommend having at least sub 30. It shouldn't be too hard if you practice for a month or two.

I've been to two competitions and there's a bunch of people that average over a minute. If you wanna go, go and have fun. Just don't expect to win.

LOL@Edward.

I was going to to quote you and tell you to STFU!
and say "He said he didn't care about his times."

but then I saw your writing in white on the reply page XDDDD.

I think you dont need to worry. If you can go to the competitions it's a great thing. You may can learn many things from other cubers.

Just take a look at last nationals.
17% of the people competing in 3x3 were sup-45.

Considering that Nationals is a while aways, I'm going to guess you'll be ~35s, if you practice, in which case you would have been better than even more people.

Basically, what I'm trying to say: go. Have fun.

Oh, and for smallcomps, then yeah, def go. They can be pretty boss.

I myself had a ~1min average at my first comp. :p

If you don't care about placing last, the time limit is 10 minutes because that's when the stackmat shuts off.

If you don't care about getting an official time, you don't even need to be able to solve the cube, though that approach might annoy tournament officials.

lmao

my first competition is tomorrow (washington dc open)

i have no idea what to expect..im averaging 26 seconds with full OLL/PLL..hopefully it's as amazing as I expect (nationals will be even better) :D
