Corner Cutting Help

Do you use a storebought? As i find they dont cut corners much if at all, get a diy if you want corner cutting.

Not all of them will cut at 45degrees but you wont need that anyway unless your turning is extremely unaccurate.

What I would do with a storebought, is kind of try to force the cube to cut corners, to stretch out the centers. So turn the U layer a bit and do an R as hard as you can, until it cuts the corner, and repeat. You have to do this for every center. But you won't get great corner cutting on a storebought.

Rounding the edges of the corners with an exacto knife helps a bit (like in the Hayain Memory mod), but you will never get the same results as with a good DIY cube.

This does help, but be careful not to over-do it. It just becomes incredibly loose and pops.

I've never seen it done, but try a spherical corner-wedge. I'd imagine it'd be stable if it is big enough, yet extremely good at corner cutting.

ok i have moded 4 rubiks storeboughts all of which can now cut corners very well what you want to do is take your corner pieces and file/ sand them down so that it has ho sharp corners or edges except the one pointing to the core then you want to round them on the outer edges of the tracks also ( the part away from the piece itself) after that round the pieces edges themselves (the part that touches the other pieces by the center piece much like the hiayan mod) then focus on the edge pieces and round the corners on the tracks of them but only slightly after that re-lube it with crc and play with it for about 2 days heavily then lube with jigaloo and your done. warning this takes me the better prt of 2 and a half hours to so be patient and if this sounds like to much work for you pm me and ill be happy to do it for you for about 7 bucks (part of that will include shipping back to you and time taken to do the mod) if you need a more in-depth tutorial let me know and ill see if i cant make a vid however i have little time to do this right now

Alpha V is not cutting corners :\

Hi everyone!

I bought an Alpha V cube recently and when the cube is tensioned so it doesn't feel loose it can't cut corners at all.

Does anyone know what the problem could be? My other A V didn't have this problem.

Bad core?
Very resistant springs?

Any help would be appreciated :)

Mod it, loosen it. AVs can get pretty loose without actually popping. Although mine is pretty tight (doesn't feel loose at all) and cuts corners nicely.
