[Help Thread] Advice and Tips for Competitions

just remember in order of importance...
1. have fun
2. make friends
3. don't make noob mistakes like restarting the timer right after, or asking to start over
4. be good...nuff said
5. get good times, or no just do good for yourself don't say omg he got a sub 12 average, Im gonna come in last

In my view, the point of competition is not to win, I guess, but to be able to meet other cubers in your community. You will be able to learn from them, as I did, try other cubes that might fit you good, and build confidence.

Hmm, I'll try doing that, but I do want at least one good time, for me that sub-50. Don't plan on winning anything :p.
Maybe I'll ask Erik Akkersdijk for some tips when I'm there (I saw that he is coming too^^)

For me, competitions are meant to be fun. A chance to meet fellow cubers and spend time with people who don't think you're a nerd. Just relax and meet some cool people there. And try to get good times. ;)
