What's the proper way to lube a storebought with Vaseline?I once tried it the way Dan Brown had said ( just shoving a finger-full into each side of the cube). But it ate through a center peice in less than a day of use and killed it.
I've heard getting some on your fingers and and rubbing the pieces with it works well but I'm not sure.
NOTE:I know this seems like more of a one answer question thing ,but i thought it would be overlooked by others that wanted to know if I posted there.
Sorry if the title is misleading.
Also i will clean the cube out and lube it with silicone.

I had meant a center but like I said I shoved a lot of vaseline in the cube that first time then used it right away.My friends had told me after the cube died to let it sit for awhile before using the cube.(FAIL)I only asked because people have said that putting vaseline in a storebought cube, cleaning it out, then putting silicone makes the cube good.
EDIT:How'd you know i shoved that much in my cube TemurAmir?lol

it's not melting.... it's cube dust getting onto the vaseline. lol.

Where i live, you dont get silicone spray, maybe rarely but i havent found it so what do i do?

There are many reasons why Dan Brown gets so much animosity here; this is one of those reasons.

Vaseline can be good, but it needs to be cleaned out COMPLETELY and followed up with Jig-A-Loo. Made my store bought cube better than Type A. But I think I was lucky. The eating away should be stopped after some smoothness, not when you have lost an entire edge piece.

owch, I feel the pain from your cube.
Just solve it 500 times and lube it with sillicone straight away.

Well, if you're gonna clean it out, vaseline might make the cube better if the store-bought is really tight. Just put a little vaseline in the cube and wait for maybe a week and clean it out COMPLETELY. When you put the vaseline, make sure to turn the cube and spread around the vaseline so you don't have a bunch stuck in one spot. After cleaning, lube it with Jigaloo or CRC. I don't know why your edge piece melted so quickly. Since you already lost an edge piece, I wouldn't go through the whole process of buying another store-bought and doing this. Just get a DIY.
