[WR] Feliks Zemdegs 9.21 3x3x3 average

But wouldn't you agree that if one person ran a mile in 4 minutes when they averaged 5 minutes in practice, & another ran 4:30 when they averaged 4:30 in practice, the first person would have a faster solve officially?

That analogy makes no sense because luck plays a huge factor in cubing. You can't skip the last lap in running (and if you could you'd have to discard those times in order to find out how fast people really were). The 7.08 was a lucky on top of an already good solve, and saying Erik is faster because his best single time (out of 100 attempts) is better than faz's (out of 10 attempts) is ridiculous.

Thank you for saying that before I had to. That's a terrible analogy.

Wow, just wow Feliks. I'm happy a 14 year old now has the new WR. Hopefully we will be taken as more serious speedsolvers from now on.

14 year olds and others around that age have had great achievements in the past and they were always taken seriously.

Woah... after your recent videos I'm not surprised, but still hugely impressed. Awesome!

Now to quote Stefan Pochmann: Go blame your parents for the rest of your life for not letting you go to the recent WC :D

Yeah. Or to quote Monopoly: "Do no pass WC2009, do not collect $7800." (and that's just for winning 3x3x3...)

u are the best Feliks Zemdegs......
He might even be the *only* Feliks Zemdegs.

Actually, an average would include all of the times.
No, actually "average" isn't a specific formula but rather a concept. Says wikipedia:
An average of a data set is a measure of the "middle" or "expected" value of the data set.
And there are many different popular kinds of averages.
