How do you train to make the cross?

I just can't think out the cross in under 15 sec. does anyone know how to train on this?

The fastest I have gotten the cross out of 12 tries was 5.3 seconds, I think timing yourself on each individual step is a great way to improve time. I cant seem to get the times under 1:30 on average, 56 seconds being my best. I am using a mix of the beginner method and F2L, I really have a hard time understanding the directions on those sites, and remembering algorithms is extremely difficult for me.

Algorithms? For the cross and F2L? You don't really need any algorithms for those. You can do those intuitivly. You need algorithms for OLL and PLL because those aren't intuitive. The cross can take time to perfect. The best thing to do (as always) is to practice and look at web sites like cube station to get tips.

yeah i did that. i average around 2.xx on cross, but when i average for a solve, i look up when i'm done with cross, and it's around 3-4, since i'm also looking for a pair, so i don't do the cross as fast as i can.

just memorize how to form the cross, and do it with your eyes closed. after a while, you'll be able to memorize it in about 5 to.. 10 seconds? (depending on how hard it is), then you can start looking for a CE pair

Cooper Pcwiz, please stop responding to these old threads. If your goal in joining this forum is to get the most posts, we don't need your kind here. This place is to provide advice to beginners and advanced cubers. Not to see who can get the most posts.

Sorry I didn't pay attention to the dates.

If you noticed, coopersacatfilms is the one who wants to get the most post. He joined a few days ago, and he already has 102 posts!. Talk about 16 posts per day.

Also, I'll stop post now (for this thread), because this thread is basically finished (so don't answer back!)

Well my tip is pure practise! I practise (almost) solely on the cross for about 3-4days and now I always have a cross that I can do 8 moves or under. Still a n00b at looking for F2L pairs, but I'm getting there!

EDIT:Ops my bad didn't see the last post, just read the first page.
