Should I switch?

Hi,

I usually average about 40s using seefop and normal cross. The last few days I tried taking more inspection time and did x-crosses instead of normal crosses. I average about 10 seconds less.
Is this an indication I'm better at blockbuilding? Should I switch to another method that involves blockbuilding? I'm curious about that, cause it takes me a lot time to memorize algorithms. I don't want to go hybrid, so I will need to learn new algorithms, which keeps me from switching.

Any ideas?

OMFG! :D I got 37 seconds with beginners LL With 4-look it already got to sub-20.. just practise dude.. and 4LLL first, then F2L.. Find You're own ways for F2L like I did. just practise and don't lose faith! :D

I really like Roux, I sometimes use it when I feel like. anyway, I am using COLL + PLL (y-perm, l-perm) to solve the top corners, which takes ages compared to CMLL. Also, I use M'UM' for the orientation step only ignoring the three groups. As I said, would I really benefit from learning new algorithms?

woah woah woah.
When did people start stealing my name for seefop?

Probably since I read a post of yours :P

You don't need new algorithms to switch to Petrus. I do Petrus with OCLL and PLL.
Or you could just not use Petrus. It is like a hybrid to me, which I don't personally like.

Probably, yes. Any clue where I can find nice fingertrick-able CMLL sets?

Or you could just use petrus :p
Same as above.

For me, it feels like a mixture of blockbuilding F2L and LLOP, except you fix the edges first. Its only a matter of preference for me, it just doesn't feel natural. I bet all Petrus user will be super defensive about that comment :P

i would suggest roux just because the blockbuilding will be easy for you.

maybe petrus?

just try out a bunch and see which you like best.

but give them all a fair chance. some methods may take a little longer to reach their full potential.
