how to take off tiles

i have a rubix cube 4x4 and it has tiles on it.

how would i take them off?

As in CubeSmith tiles? If so then its kinda intuitive. If its those tiles like ones on Meffert's, then first of all your Rubik's is a Meffert's or Cleffert's. And for that its also just brute force I think.

If he thinks it's a "rubix", there's no way he's heard of Cubesmith tiles...

Rubik's makes a tiled 4x4? This doesn't make sense to me. Either Arckuss tiled it after buying the cube, "tiles" is being used to mean "stickers", I am mistaken, and there is a tiled Rubik's brand 4x4, or it's a Mefferts or Mefferts clone.
