Should I lube my DIY before applying the stickers?

It doesn't really matter when you lube it. Some people like to break a cube in a little bit before lubing. I usually lube mine right after I assemble and adjust it, but I still do it after I put the stickers on.

When I get my C4Y DIY, I'm going to assemble it, break it in a little, adjust it, break it in all the way, then lube it, then put the tiles on. I'm going to lube it taken apart, and when I did that to my Megaminx, the tiles got messed up, so I'm putting them on after I lube it. But if you just spray it in, you can put the stickers/tiles on whenever.

EDIT: I forgot that the Rubik's lube isn't a spray. I wouldn't know what to do with it. I've never used it before.

Be warned -- the lubricant dispenser from the Rubik's DIY is hard to control. When I used it, I accidentally put way too much in and it leaked all over the stickers, temporarily making the cube very greasy. After a few hours, however, the lubricant dried, and I was able to wipe it off. Even so, I always lubricate before putting on stickers or tiles.

5 Steps (in this order) to a good performing DIY :

step 1: Lube with silicone *spray* (idk what lube came with your package)
step 2: Assemble
step 3: Adjust tension on screws
step 4: Sticker
step 5: Break in

Now you have a good cube! YAY!!!
If the tension gets messed up over time, re-adjust it.
And if the lube becomes not effective over time, re-lube it.
And if the stickers start to peel, re-sticker it.

Now you have a good cube and you know how to take care of it! YAY AGAIN!!!

You would be better off buying stickers from cubesmith.com

The rubik's stickers are pretty low quality.
I've lubed after stickering for breaking in purposes.

There is a trick to using a syringe of cube lube. First, remove the cap and point the nozzle straight up. Next, pinch the plunger near the base and extend it outward very slightly, just enough to open the airway in the nozzle. Finally, use the syringe. Because the nozzle was cleared, the flow can be controlled.

If you use a Silicone spray, you should be careful to not let the propellant stain your tiles or unglue your stickers. If you use the method of laying out all your pieces as shown at http://speedcubing.com/ton/Speedcube/makinga.htm (see step 11 in making the speed cube) then you might consider putting your stickers or tiles on afterward.

When I lube my cubes with silicone, i put my stickers on first, because when i don't, i can't break it in. Also, when I lube mine, the silicone gets everywhere (i disassemble the whole thing and spray) and it turns the plastic white. The stickers help protect it.
