how many weeks does silicon spray last? with your experience how many times do you relube? and what technique do you use to lube it

i lube mine about once every three weeks or so. seems to work out fine for me. i suggest lubing it whenever you feel it's not turning as smoothly. it will probably depends on how much use it gets as well as real time.

I re-lube my cube whenever it gets slow. Probably once a month. Make sure to wash out the old lube before re-lubing.

If you have a lot of time on your hands, when the cube seems to be slowing, disassemble the entire cube, Wet a parer towel, and rub down all the pieces, including the core. When that's done, get a bunch of q-tips to clean the insides of the cube. Depending on what lube you used and how long you've had the cube, you might see the q-tips getting black really quickly. That's the plastic from the cube which has worn off of the pices. Then, to get the rest of the lube off, repeat the q-tip step but coat the tips in rubbing alcohol.

I really don't lube my cube that often. Just before major competitions. What helps more is periodically cleaning out the dust that accumulates inside and slows it down. I've found a microfiber car towel is excellent for this purpose. The microfiber picks up dust very well and holds it so that you don't smear the dust all over your stickers and other cubies. You also don't have to mess around with water and waiting for all your pieces to dry.
