my style is generally go as fast as i can. but my like technique is while doing the last piece on the cross look for my first f2l pair. As im putting in the pair i dont look at it and search for my next pair i do that until last pair. Then oll and pll. I sometimes rarely get sub 20 with this technique but im 13 and only been cubing for 5 months and will soon defiantly get better within a yr. or so in cubing.:)

Now share your cubing style and techniques!!:D

ROUX METHOD and my "technique":D
-Slow and steady Blockbuiding, No Pauses.
-smooth, moderately fast CMLL that's slow enough to be recognized, fast enough to be sub-3.
-Fast starting edge orient, slowing down at the end to give a transition to the next step
-Fast starting UL/UR permutation, slowing down at the end to give a transition to the next step
-Fast Last step

Other Stuff
-Look ahead
-Lots and lots of M moves

Hmph, just solve the cube...for one-handed I like to go quickly and smoothly along... (Dene may recall from the last Berkeley competition when he was my judge and I got like a 23...it just went nicely along [although it was a slow solve time-wise])

Im 9 and I average around 30 seconds. My technique is get an x-cross and do the F2l normally. I think that starting to learn to pre-plan pairs as you get the last two edges of the x-cross would be good. Then I do the Oll and Pll normally. I know 20-24 Olls because all the posts on my "stuck in the mud" post except one said to improve and never mentioned learning more Olls. That is my technique.

Im 17, i average 16secs, sometimes 15secs, sometimes 17secs.

I go as fast as possible.
I dont pay much attention to lookahead, its all instinct, since im just applying basic f2l algs and LL algs. Some people frown upon my approach, since i dont use my mind much, basically what someone once called, "zombie with fingers".

EDIT: also, i use special slotting sometimes to influence LL, such as some VHF2L and other algs to induce OLL skip.
I use them once every 30 or so solves.

Hm... My "technique" is probably something like this.

Any given solve:
Cross on B, U, or F, depending on the situation
F2L inspection during all of cross
Intuitive/algorithmic F2L (you heard me right)
24 OLLs
Full PLL

Other:
LL edge control
Some of the Winter Variation
A little multislotting
A bit of force OLL skip stuff

And as for my style... hard to say. I use some very extravagant, flashy, open, smooth finger tricks. Some may even say... outlandish? risky? only loosely feasible?

EDIT: I average at 17.61 and my PB is 15.06, and yes, I am also thirteen.

dont go super fast for the first 2 blocks cmll just as fast as the blocks LSE um full speed

Punctuation is your friend. Don't be afraid of it.

I get a lot of Youtube comments about how smooth my turning is. So I guess that's my prevailing style.

slow and smooth cross, full speed F2L full speed OLL, slow and smooth PLL :)

Why?

For Fridrich, I usually do fast cross, go slow and look ahead for F2L, transition into OLL with no pauses (slow down end of F2L to look ahead), pause For PLL, execute it crazy fast unless it is a G perm.
For Petrus, I usually do fast 1st block, waste time to find 2nd block and execute it slowly, pause for bad edges, fix them real fast, pause for F2L finish, finish it real fast, pause for COLL, execute it smoothly while inspecting for EPLL AUF, Start executing M slice EPLL before fully recognizing it and finish it lighting fast. That step is kind of weird. For Z and H perm, I know I can do it as soon as I recognize the AUF. For U perms, I because the first M2 is the same, I I can think of which way to flick the U right before I do it, so I get an extra 0.2 seconds to recognize whether it is ccw or cw. If I choose to do the RU alg, I have to pause.
