Only if we bring back 3x3 no inspectionInspection time should count during regular 3x3, not just 3BLD.

Nah, not a separate event. I would eliminate inspection in all events. Or, rather, count it as part of your solve time.Only if we bring back 3x3 no inspection
Why?Nah, not a separate event. I would eliminate inspection in all events. Or, rather, count it as part of your solve time.
See below.Why?
That's kinda racist.to nerf the Chinese kids?
I apologise and have now deleted that post, I am sorry for my actions and I will not say anything like that againSee below.

Inspection is a skill and should rewarded as such. If someone inspects for 11 seconds and solves in 4 and someone inspects for 6 and solves in 8, who actually solved the cube faster? Put another way - if you tell someone you can solve the cube in 12 seconds and they say, "Cool, show me!" and then you start inspecting, what will they say? "That's cheating!" or they will have already started a stopwatch.
I understand all the reasons why inspection is not counted in the time and that it'll never get changed. But all of those objections apply to the blind events and we don't care there. And...inspection is a skill and should be rewarded. Just like we do for blind.
Kudos. Learning and growing is the best any of us can aim for.I apologise and have now deleted that post, I am sorry for my actions and I will not say anything like that again
neither is mbldcubing is not a sport
fmc isn't speedcubing
i'm happy to agree that cubing isn't a sport - i think part of the reason for clock's removal is that the wca is trying to make it a sportcubing is not a sport
fmc isn't speedcubing
well course not mate. but its the worldcubeassociation not the worldspeedcubingassociationfmc isn't speedcubing
Agreed.Mine: sub-20 is way harder to reach than people make it sound.
Honestly? Agreed. I think we're too far in to ever get inspection removed, but if I were to start the WCA from scratch. I would have all events start the way BLD does - you start the timer, then you get to start looking at the cube. It is really cool seeing what people can do with 15 seconds of inspection time, but I think cubing would feel some amount more "pure" without it.Nah, not a separate event. I would eliminate inspection in all events. Or, rather, count it as part of your solve time.
Sub 15 is even harderMine: sub-20 is way harder to reach than people make it sound.

Inspection is the most degenerate thing I have ever witnessed in a so-called "speed" activity. I'm not exaggerating when I say it literally ruins speedcubing. Imagine if track racing had you randomly stand at the starting line and stare at the track for 15 seconds before you start running. Yeah, it would be bloody stupid. Now imagine that there's a phase in cubing where you need to analyze the cube as fast as possible before you even start solving and then immediately begin turning within fractions of a second. That would also be bloody stupid. But that's where we end up when a casual puzzle gets turned into a competitive activity with no alterations to make it actually fair. The bloody idea even says "solve the cube.... as fast as possible" not "solve the cube after staring at it and planning half the solve." Oh, or I could just not use inspection and lose seconds of my time to fix a glaring design choice in the activity. I will never do a solve with inspection ever unless the community stops idolizing "optimal planning" and removes inspection entirely.
cause cubing isnt a sport lolSprinters, famously, just arrive at the track and go. No extended period where they wait at the line for a signal to run. And in other speedsports like motor racing, they often walk the course beforehand to get a feel for it and spot and potential issues.
