My 6×6 Journey – Chasing the sub - 3 dream

I can beat you
My edges are just 5 seconds slow above the 2 minute mark
My 3 stage is faster on average
But you still beat me😳
Bro u can easily beat me in future, i focus more on centers and edges because i know 3 by 3 stage will take lot of time, so i have always focused on the hard part.

Ur 3 by 3 stage is good, u just have to focus on centers and edges.

I am so happy you are faster than me actually
Makes me proud of ya
So your reduction stage is faster than mine. I am trying to work on that! Thanks for the encouragement!😍
How fast are your centers done? Edges? I use Yau so our times will be different from each other!

Thanks bro 🥰, ya i forgot u use yau sorry 🥲

If i use yau my time comes between 3:15 to 3:45.

If i talk about reduction,

Centers best- 55 sec
Avg between- 1 min to 1:15

Edges Best - 58 sec
Avg between - 1 min to 1:10,

3 by 3 stage between (25 sec to 35 including parities).

So for me reduction feels like more flexible, or i can say i am used to it.

I know i cant improve my 3 by 3 stage, so my main focus is centers and edges, especially edges because they are the real game changer.

So now a day i am doing lots of slow solves of edges, where i am focusing on all the types of insertions and less rotations.

I just drill. No slow solves, as when I began I was slow and hated it.
My centers after solving the three edges are finished are about 1:30
Edges take me until 2:00-2:20?
3x3 stage takes the rest
This feels like Max Park and Lim Hung
Redux vs Yau haha
This will get way more tense over the weeks to come😎

Slow solves will definitely help u improve bro, i have done lots of slow solves in my non mag. Cube then only i achieved sub 3 on that.

Ya i am scared bro, i am only practicing 6 by 6, u are 7 by 7 king, u will destroy me there.

6 × 6 New PB (2:21.20)-

Hello guys!

Two times i have touched my previous PB 🥳

But still my times are very inconsistent, majority of my times are between 2:40 to 3:00, and after 40 to 50 continuous solves i barely touch sub 2:30.

I need to push more.

You are making this crazy difficult to catch up
Good job bro! Proud of ya!
Once again you are distancing the gap between us...
Yet the inevitable is to come...
You will see...

I have looked thorugh this thread and you are improving pretty fast and i wonder if you have tried doing some 7x7 to get better look-ahead. or tried doing sprint events to get better at inspection?

Hey everyone 👋

I’ve been focused on 6×6 solving for about few months now, and recently crossed 1100 recorded solves (tracked in cstimer).
I solve on a Cubelelo non-magnetic 6×6—a simple cube, but one I’ve mastered through precision and flow rather than hardware.

Current stats

  • Best single: 3 min 05 sec
  • Mean: 4 min 22 sec
  • Total solves so far: 1100 +
  • Method: Classic reduction → 2-look CFOP

Over time I realized big cubes aren’t about rushing—they’re about flow.
I’ve trained myself to turn cleanly, keep perfect alignment, and pair edges efficiently without relying on magnets.
Now my next target is sub-3 and eventually 100 000 total solves someday 😄

I’d love to hear tips or feedback from other big-cube solvers, especially on edge-pairing flow or transition efficiency.
I’ll post updates here as I continue improving!

Thanks for reading

I average around 2:40 for 6 and i use yau.
you don’t have to switch but i really like it
tips for edge pairing is be consistent and try and pause less. even if your turning slower if you can continuously go that’s good

same rule apply to centers. also try and plan at least one bar in inspection and know where some pieces are for the next bar

Well in 6 by 6 i think my inspection is ok ok, i plan 2 bars at a time, and if there are good cases then 3.

Instead of 7 by 7 i practice 9 by 9 it helped me a lot in blockbuilding, and 6 by 6 feels lighter after that😂
