I want to point out that my recent activity has been reported as spam. I want to thank you guys for these reports, as they have made me aware of what my recent activity has been like.
A moderator approached me and said in so many words that it was no biggie, just work on my frequency of posts and all is good.
The work the moderators do is tough, and having to tolerate members such as myself can be difficult at times. However, being as loving and reasonable as they are, I have been the exception for many things. I initiated a petition to bring back a banned member. I have replied to aggressive content. I have spammed "good morning" to people and,as of recently, spamming to newer members "hi" "hi, so nice to meet you" "welcome to the forums" etc. Yet I have not been banned while the rules clearly show that I have been violating them. The moderators simply have warned me not to do these again, and left me alone.
While it is very nice of them to be so lenient with me, I feel that some action needs to be taken. Rules are not meant to be broken, and yet I have broken several of them (mentioned above) and there are consequences. I should not be the exception this time. I have been reported as spam, and I have been spamming, and should be punished as spam.
The moderator said this was more of a minor offense. No biggie. This was more of a warning to me. Since it is a minor offense, and still considered spam, here is the penalty

Spamming will not be tolerated, and if me being banned for a 5 day period is appropriate, then vote yes, I should be banned for the 5 days.
If you think I have been warned properly, then vote no.
There are penalties for rules violation. Please review the rules thoroughly so no more of them are violated any time soon. I know I will review the rules myself soon.
Thanks for your time! And please continue doing the right thing by letting the moderators know if there are any issues you may need help with. They work hard, and are always ready to help! They are reasonable and appreciated. Thanks to them we can enjoy a forum based on cubing!

Akhi (brother) you didn't do spam you were just going to seperate profiles and chatting with people even if this is alot it deserves a warning but never an actual major thing your flooding profiles but not spamming into them or saying things unnecessary which might be the argument for mods to not ban you

You are aware I was reported as spam in the forums as well? Not just the profile walls.
And I did not say they were major. I said this is a minor report, resulting in a 5 day penalty.
Thanks for your concern, but rules are rules. And I am more than happy to comply to them.

Minor spam won’t get you banned for 5 days. It just gives you an infraction point for 5 days. Similarly, Major spam gives 3 infraction points for 14 days. If you have 5 points, you get a 1-day ban; if you have 10 points, you get a 5-day ban.

i don’t see the point of this thread. If you know you’re doing something wrong, then don’t do it. The active members on this forum would be MUCH less if they had strictly abided by the rules (which, from my observations, has gotten less and less strict over the years). You’re lucky they haven’t banned you yet. Asking whether you should be banned or not is not the greatest expression of gratitude. It’s like getting bailed out of jail by your family member and then insisting on going back to jail anyway because you felt “guilty”. How do you think that family member would feel? The same applies here. You are let off the hook by the mods even when you’ve obviously broken the rules, and then you want to get a temporary ban because you feel guilty?

Technically it’s still spamming, since he selected completely random profiles of people who rarely/haven’t been active. Repeatedly greeting people on their profile’s all at once is pretty much spam (but respectful lol). Even then, there have been worse incidents of spamming and they only got a ban until then.
