SpeedSolving.com Championships 2026 | ROUND 2 INTERMISSION

please register
there’s only around 20 days left for registration
I would if I could, but the only event I could compete in is 6x6 and 7x7, and I am still at a slow slump right now and joining a new forum comp after losing the last one kinda makes me sad (I do not mind losing, in fact I enjoy it, but I do not really care for the amount of commitment it requires for comps online. It doesn't really fit my schedule.) Sorry😭😭😭😭😭

BUMP FOR NO ONE
Also there’s going to be a surprise award for those who podiumed

Qualifications and Format
Once the registration period is finished, 24/48% of the fastest people out of the 50 competitors will make it to the actual competition. The competitors are ranked based off of their weekly comp results, and if they manage to make it into the top 24/48%, they get to compete in the championship. Note: 48% is there because of the other events. If less than 10 people compete in an event, then the 24/48% rule is removed.
Here are the qualifications and format for every event:
3x3: Top 24, Top 18, Top 12 | ao5
2x2: Top 16, Top 8 | ao5
4x4: Top 12, Top 8 | ao5
5x5: Top 12, Top 8 | ao5
6x6: Top 4 | mo3
7x7: Top 4 | mo3
OH: Top 16, Top 12 | ao5
3BLD: Top 8 | ao5
FMC: Top 4 | mo3
Skewb: Top 12, Top 8 | ao5
Square-1: Top 12, Top 8 | ao5
Clock: Top 12, Top 8 | ao5
Pyraminx: Top 12, Top 8 | ao5
Megaminx: Top 8 | ao5
4BLD: no quali | mo3
5BLD: no quali | mo3
FTO: no quali | ao5
What does this mean? If you sign up for an event, you don't necessarily get to do it??? (Edit: Is the "first round" just the normal weekly comp then? And what do you mean by 24/48% if there aren't exactly 50 competitors in an event?) Also are you including multiblind?

here’s a flowchart:
Registered Competitors -> 48% out of total competitors in each event -> the other 52% unfortunately don’t get to compete -> the 48% of competitors for each event get to compete in the actual comp

Also I should probably convert everything to percentages because the spoiler is assuming we reach 50 competitors lol.

edit: The competitors are ranked in the “preliminaries” based on their weekly comp result, so yes, the “first round” is sort of just an R1, but the catch is that only your PR results from the weekly comp will be counted
