The L.O.T. Initiative

BRO THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR! not only algorithms but a well organized page to learn it from! Will you please help make the 1x2x3 block more efficient also? Just wondering and really appreciate you taking the initiative to do this for me! Thank you!
Sure bro. I actually prefer working on method development over solving, so this is right up my alley. I should be able to finish the alg set today. And I’ll start experimenting with 1x2x3 methods. I would suggest running harcs on it if anyone has windows or can run linux, as I cannot.

I am not computer savy AT ALL but thanks! @Caleb Valenzuela said something about it being tedious to build so maybe there is a structured way of doing it?

Btw, I have started calling the algset LOLSLL (Legendary Overkill Last Slot Last Layer). I have grouped it into +a, +b, -a, and -b. +means the edges are oriented, -means they are not. A means the 2 edges are permuted in the right spot, and b means they’re swapped. Right now, a lot of the algs are pretty bad, and so I will individually run bad cases with more diverse move gens to try get better algs. I’ll update the thread to any major changes to the algs. I’ll also start working on 1x2x3 strategies.

AWESOME!!!!!

Now can you apply this concept to Megaminx? I would love to have this presented to Beth Lee to see if it really does have potential

Can you also make it with 4x4 parities included?
Will you ever make a youtube tutorial on this method. if, I wish to check it out!
YES! I just have to learn my own method first (lol)

Unfortunately, I don’t have a 4x4. I can try, but it might take weeks for me to figure that out. I’ve only genned algs for 3x3 and 2x2 before, since those are the only puzzles I have. I also would have to learn all the notation for megaminx. I’m sorry, @Jared Burkhart, I’ll try my best, but this might be out of my wheelhouse.

No prob bro... you did above and beyond expectations! Thanks for your help and if you send me the link to wherever you generate these, then I can immediately get to processing them. ALSO...can you make it printable format? Some of it is cut off...

Lowkey don’t know how to make it printable, as I haven’t printed any alg sheets before. Could you send a picture of what’s happening?

Yup i'm running on ubuntu right now

So as someone who learned the Tripod method and then improved it with TLS, this caught my eye, so I messed with it for a few minutes.

After looking at what you're doing and the end state reaching, I have some unfortunate news to break:

After you get to the point of having solved the 2x3 block on the LL (suppose you have perfectly solved UB, UBL, UL, UFL, UF no there's no AUF), you will then be left with L5P on the R face. This pretty much means all you're really doing is just solving the Tripod method in a weird order that just puts a Tripod 1LLL case on the R face instead of the U layer, but with the extra caveat that your LL pieces might not always be aligned, causing the recognition to be even worse.

Thanks for informing me. I will now close this thread (if I can)
