How long is the moderator approval time?

Hi all, I have just posted a new thread at Software Area but it is under "Awaiting approval" for more than 12 hours.
Is it because it is my first post?

The approval time is however long it takes for one of us to notice the queue isn't empty. (Your posts have now been approved.)

(In cases where it's not obvious whether the post should be approved (e.g. borderline spammy content), I usually ignore it if I don't have time to carefully look at it.)

And how long/often does this happen? Will this stop after my first n posts or my first m days or so?

Also, my first post got approved after several more posts by others had been added to the thread. If people had already read those newer posts when mine got unhidden, will they somehow still see mine or will they likely miss it?

Yes one they have been approved once you don't need moderator approval anymore (I think that is how it works)

Ok, after my first one got approved, I posted two or three more that still had to be approved as well. After they got approved, my next few posts appeared right away without needing further approval.

I think after 5 posts you don’t need moderator approval anymore
