Nor is ZB, which is like the method that will be insanely fast. Xuanyi and Tymon (and other ZB-ZZ users) also have more potential with ZB, leading me to beieve sub 2 single and sub 3 average is definitely possible. We might even get a few sub 1s in 2040. But this leads me to one question. Once the limit has been reached, how will cubing thrive and be fun?

sub-1 on 3x3 is absurd lol. I ZB-ZZ is just ZZ-A btw. Cubing is and always will be fun. Records aren’t the only thing that keep cubing fun, it’s the experiences, the improvement, the fun of bonding with friends or other cubers. 3x3 also isn’t the only event you know, we still have 16 other events together with unofficial events like FTO and relays. So i wouldn’t worry about how cubing would thrive and be fun.

Cubers wil keep cubing, but records are a major reason why noncubers start cubing.

maybe for you and others, but most of us just saw some random video of a cubing skit or some old WR and decided to give the hobby a try. Like i said, records aren’t the only ones keeping this hobby thriving with new cubers. But with that said, i do wonder what would happen if we reach the limit of 3x3.

I think eventually one of the cubing giants like Luke or Max or Yiheng is gonna get their PB time at a comp and then we will have basically reached the limit for CFOP. I think that we will hit a new record for ZB, then maybe an even more efficient method like APB and then maybe some insane mastermind gets a sub-1 solve using domino reduction
