Community Feedback: how can the site improve?

I would rephrase this post to be slightly less aggressive, but you do you.

Introduce a 12 hour cool down to post again on a thread. Editing should still be allowed as soon as you post, but double or triple posting should remain discouraged and should be made harder.
I completely agree with this. A cooldown/slowmode would very much be a good thing, except for profile posts, which, for some reason, can't be edited.

Seems like a cool idea but like what if the staff member is in the hospital how will they choose then
This is an incredibly specific scenario, but I agree with you. I've added my thoughts on this topic after the post quoted below.

Hear me out, a quote of the day

Basically, a staff member picks their favorite thing they’ve seen on the forum, and it will subsequently be quoted. Probably won’t be added, but I like the idea
We do this in the New Zealand speedcubers discord server, and I think it's a good idea, provided the mods can find time to do it. An option for the community to nominate posts would also be cool. A QoTD thread might be a cool idea.

Isn't that what the featured thread used to be? It was either that or featured media item

No, they make a good point. For most of the forum's time, it was considered bad form to double (or triple) post because it's spammy. This isn't a chat. Fun fact: lots of people still consider it bad form to double (or triple) post.

In some cases such as progression threads and forum comps(when hosting), double posts are much cleaner than editing one post with everything.

Also, in the NZ server, QoTD is not necessary everyday, nor does the theoretical Speedsolving QoTD have to do.

How about username changing? I want to change my username but don’t want to pay to be a premium member. What if non-premium/normal members will have to wait 1 year after every username change, while premium members will be able to change usernames whenever they want (or just the normal premium member perks) This would make it so people can’t easily change their usernames, but still make it available to non-premium members.

As someone who has paid for username changes, I second this.

If this happens, I think a user's previous username(s) should be listed on their profile, to reduce confusion.

To play Devil's Advocate:

The problem with this is that it removes a large portion of the incentive that Premium Membership has. It sounds good in theory but Premium Membership helps keep the site afloat, and relegating name changes to a free feature surely means nothing but less money going towards this cause.

Yeah, but if he just made more features for the premium membership that issue would be nullified. Most people on this forum are kids or people who can't get money for it. I had to beg my mom to let me buy premium.

@pjk what do you think about this idea? I could help brainstorm some more features if you are worried about that

But in all honesty pjk please make name changes free. Many people on this forum can’t afford 10 dollars to change their username, and many are kids without a debit card or paypal account. Please just make the premium perk that you can change your username an unlimited amount of times. And for free users make it once a month or so.
