THE RESULTS ARE IN! SEE THEM HERE.
Welcome to the 2024 Forum Awards! It’s now late December, and as the rest of the world is preparing to celebrate Christmas and/or enjoy the holidays, it’s time for the SpeedSolving.com community to participate in one of my favorite traditions, the Forum Awards! The lovely time of the year where we all gather together and vote on who is most like Brest, and who really needs a hug.
If you're not familiar with the Forum Awards, it's a lovely tradition where the members of the SpeedSolving.com community gather together to vote on what/who should win a variety of fun categories. We start out by having everyone nominate their personal favorites in each category, and then eventually the most popular nominations are compiled for us to all vote on the winners.
The Forum Awards have strayed quite a bit from their standard mold over the past few years, and this year we’re going to bring it back to its roots, although still with a few new fun categories! Here are the rules:
A Side Note
In October of 2023, I suggested renaming some of the “In Honor Of” awards to honor more active and known members. This suggestion received support, but nothing more has been done of it. In addition to nominating winners of all the categories, I invite you to nominate new names for each of the 4 categories. There will be an opportunity to then vote for winners, with of course an option for each of “I want the old name”. The results of this vote may affect the future names of these awards, depending on who runs the Forum Awards next year.

The Forum Awards have strayed quite a bit from their standard mold over the past few years, and this year we’re going to bring it back to its roots, although still with a few new fun categories! Here are the rules:
- These are simply nominations; the actual voting will come later.
- Don’t nominate yourself, you will look very silly.
- You do not have to nominate someone/something in every category.
- For categories that involve posts/threads/etc., please reference each with links.
- For categories involving a specific user, do not AT(@) them, as it will cause tremendous spam. Just post the name of the user.
- Commenting "+1" is allowed, if there's a specific nomination you agree with.
- Please keep all of your nominations within one post. You are still able to +1 other posts.
- After two weeks, on January 5, 2025 (UTC), the most popular nominations will be compiled into a Google Form, where everyone can vote on the winners.
- The deadline for voting is TBD, likely a couple weeks after voting opens. The winners will be announced shortly after. I'm aiming for the winners to be announced by the end of January.
