2024 Speedsolving Forum awards

Uh so if you remember this, I’m bringing back the ss forums awards again, this time for members of 2024.
I don’t know who the winners were last year, or if there was one. If someone can get me a link to that that would be good.
I will need some help for “yearbook” categories that people can fit into, like “Most improved” or “Goofiest member” or “Mega god supreme”, whatever you want.
I will update this post in the future.

Hello!

Unless anyone has a legitimate reason to oppose this, I am taking up the mantle for hosting the annual forum awards for 2024. Over the years, these have proceeded with variable levels of complaints and conflict. I’m aware that we are currently in January, and thus quite far from the announcement of this year’s forum awards, but I wanted to give a place of discussion to the community.

At the end of the day, regardless of who hosts them, the forum awards are a community effort, and wouldn’t be possible without all of us participating. Therefore, rather than just randomly announcing...

Averages from when I joined the forums (january 2-ish) to now

4x4: 51 -> 36 (-29%)
5x5: 1:56 -> 1:15 (-35%)

3BLD: 2:30 -> 1:20 (-47%)
OH: 20.1 -> 13.6 (-32%)
Clock: 8.6 -> 4.6 (-47%)

Regardless, October is much too early to begin the forum awards.

You gave no meaningful info in the original post, and also showed you weren't aware of any of the traditions of the awards or even if they were held last year. The forums award host(s) should not be this uninformed; this is a major issue we have had in recent years (in my opinion)
