This was my success from two weeks ago, when I was practicing for the Ohio Open. So sad that it didn't go so well in competition.

Memorization: 34:40
Solving: 19:35

I included the memorization (sped up 16x) so you can see the order I memorized in and how I go over the memorization. Solving is sped up 4x.

Wow Mike that's awesome! Gonna break your 15/15 this year at Nats?

That will be very hard for me to do. I'm at my limit with 10 right now, with the new rule requiring that a solve be under an hour. I might be able to do 11, but that's the most I could possibly manage at the moment. I'm hoping to try BH for corners - I'll see if that can improve it any.

Well I figured 10 was your limit now, but Nats is still 4 months away. I believe you can do it. Go Mike!

Good job, Mike. I was really interessted to see in which rhythm/order you memorize. I usually do 5, double check those. Next 5, double check those. Then I usually look at the first 5 once more. Tim usually double checks his memo without looking at the cubes (only when in doubt). I will try that too.

REALLY WELL DONE MAN!!!
my personal record on this is 32 minutes, but i think tim is even faster.
keep up the excellent work Mike. i am working on 7x7x7 BLD, cause i will skip 6x6x6 cause of the pops.

Greetings...Dennis;):)

Thanks everyone!

Funny how similar our approaches are. As you can see, I do all of the first 9 again at the end. I often try not to even pick up the cubes when double-checking, but lately I've found it helps to pick it up in case I need to look - it's a little faster. I do the last cube like it's a regular 3x3x3 BLD solve, with a little extra time on the memo to hopefully improve accuracy. At first, I needed to do that to get the speed necessary to make 10 in an hour, but now I don't anymore. I wonder if I should quit doing that - it seems like I miss the last cube more often than I do the others.

You, Tim, and Kai are all quite amazing with your speed. I hope to be as good as you guys someday, but I have a lot of work to do to get there. I'm very happy to hear about the 7x7x7 BLD - good luck on it! As for 6x6x6, if you would just do the easy mods for it (you don't have to bother with the pins), you really wouldn't have to worry about popping anymore. The 6x6x6 is a good size for BLD - it takes a while, but it's not too overwhelming. And you get to do lots of obliques, which are my favorite type of piece to solve BLD.

Constant practice *cough* :)

In my opinion a constant memo speed is very important. It helps me to get into a nice (and fast) flow. Every time i try to memorize some cubes in a different speed than other cubes, it totally screws up my pace and my accuracy. Maybe that's just my inexperience with images. A good example is a relay with a 2x2. I memorize the 2x2 at the end and solve it at first. Mostly i mess up that 2x2 and every time i have a huge delay before i can successfully recall the next cube.
