I'm going to relearn 3x3... just the cross and f2l part.
What this means:
I'm going to do a whole refresher of all my habits and muscle mems of cross and f2l. why you ask? because after over half a year, I have gotten virtually nowhere. Sure, I've dropped from a 23 second 3x3'er to someone with an official sub 16 avg, but that has literally all come from learning full pll and 1/3 of the oll. I've sat down and realized that I average about 3 seconds on cross, and about 7 seconds on f2l. if I just sit down and let the timer go for 7 seconds, I can't believe how much time that is. just try it. as for cross, 3 seconds feels sorta fast but, not when you realize that it's possible to solve cross in a second only using one side.
I'm going to buckle down, thro my old muscle memories (which are btw riddled with cube rotations) out the window and start fresh. I'm just not satisfied with my times lately, and I know that there's more in me. starting tomorrow, I'm going to be practicing in the speedcubedb cross trainer, and working my way up the difficulties until I reach the glorius 7 move level. as for f2l, I'm sort of torn between to options. either plan first pair, or trace. planning first pair, makes for a possibly less efficient cross solution (but you get a first pair), and tracing gives you the most efficient cross solution and you get to flow in f2l (but now you have to do 4 pairs). I'm pretty sure there like the same so I'm flipping a coin and going with tracing. i'm also going to start learning some of those f2l algs.
