After a long time, I received an envelope from Indy. When I opened it, I found a letter and a USB inside.

The letter read, "Dear Tito, how are you? I'm doing well, despite my old age. I didn't have much luck with my treasure hunt the other day, but I'm thinking of trying again someday. Right now I'm in Dundee, England, searching for Monck's treasure, worth £2.5 billion.

The other day, while exploring, I found something strange at the mouth of the river. Thinking that it might have something to do with this treasure, I started to solve the mystery, but I just can't figure it out. So, I'm enclosing a USB with a recording on it, so could you try to decipher it? Thanks in advance. Indy"

I immediately looked at the image stored in the USB, and it was a 1x1x1 cube.

The surface of the cube had faded over the years, but it appeared to have been painted in three different colors. Each face had a pattern that appeared to have been carved with a blade.

(Pattern)
U & D faces: Nothing in particular
F & R faces: A Center dot
B & L faces: Stripes pattern

In addition, when Indy analyzed the cube through X-rays, the following string of 24 numbers emerged on the bottom.

Number string: 2 4 2 6' 2 6 2 4 2 6 2 4 2 4' 2 6' 2 4' 2 6' 2 6 2 4'

What on earth should I do?
Let's think about it little by little...

First, let's try to decipher the string of numbers engraved on the cube. The characteristics of the string of numbers are as follows:

- Only the numbers 2, 4, and 6 are used.
- The number 2 is written every other number.
- An apostrophe (') is placed to the numbers 4 and 6, but not to the number 2.

The only way to decipher it is from this information. Can you decipher it, readers?

I feel like I'm starting to understand the mystery of the number sequence engraved on the cube.

The numbers 4 and 6 have an apostrophe (') but the number 2 does not, so the number 2 is considered to be in the tens place and the numbers 4 and 6 are in the ones place.

Based on the above and the fact that the number 2 is written every other number, it can be assumed that the number sequence is a series of two-digit numbers starting with 2.

If that is the case, they can be rewritten into the following 12 numbers, each consisting of two numbers: 24, and 26.

24 26' 26 24
26 24 24' 26'
24' 26' 26 24'

Now, I wonder what these 2 numbers and apostrophe (') represent…

In the Rubik's Cube, the apostrophe (') means "prime," which reverses the rotation, so the apostrophe attached to the numbers in question must have the same meaning.

If so, then 24 and 26 represent rotation symbols (R, U, M, S, x, y, z, etc.), and since this cube is 1x1x1, they must be x, y, or z... Right, the 24th letter of the alphabet is x, and the 26th letter is z!

In other words, the two-digit numbers in question mean the following:

24 → x
24' → x'
26 → z
26' → z'

Then, the string of numbers can be deciphered as follows:

24 26' 26 24
26 24 24' 26'
24' 26' 26 24'
↓

x z' z x z x x' z' x' z' z x'

Rotate the cube as shown above.

So, what does this all mean?
Do you understand?

As the top of the cube rotates, a pattern like this appears:

• • • - - - • • •

I see. This is Morse code for "S O S"!

Perhaps a prisoner or someone at that time wrote an encrypted SOS message on this cube and threw it outside the cage to ask for help. It doesn't seem to have anything to do with the treasure Indy is looking for, but let's report it to him anyway.
