Hi! I'm thinking of wanting to learn 3BLD and would appreciate any tips or anything that might help me before i start learning it. I am planning on Old Pochmann first.

Old Pochmann is definitely the way to go for learning 3bld. Blind is not easy to learn, but it's very rewarding!

I'd recommend joining the blindsolvers discord; they can give you lots of good help and advice if you're stuck.

I'm thinking of learning 2BLD first. Is this a good idea?

I'd recommend just going for 3BLD. It's separated into edges and corners, so you can just focus on solving one piece type until you're somewhat comfortable with it.

I went for 2BLD first as J perms tutorial for 2BLD goes over the basics and logic of blindsolving much more clearly and thoroughly. If you are familiar with the colour scheme I would recommend 2BLD first- you'll have to learn it anyway.

If you're really good at 2x2 and you're comfortable with one looking. J perms tutorial teaches Old Pochmann. If you are comfortable with one looking 2x2 and want to get into BLD you could still start with 2x2, but where you have to use OP.

No, it's best of 3. It's not how fast you could do it in an average, it's your fastest solve in a competition.

Yes, but to win a competition it's your best 3bld time. I don't think it matters if it's 3 success or not. @Cuberstache or some other bld person is this right?

I'm not Cuberstache but yeah that's right. Rankings are based on single, but records can also be set for mean.
