Hey,
So I was wondering if there was some sort of guide for which alg sets to learn for 2x2 and when? Currently I use Ortega and average around 5 seconds, I want to try and reach sub-2 one day but wasn't sure what order I should learn the different algorithm sets.
Thanks to anyone who can help!

For 2x2, it is typically advised to learn CLL after Ortega(CLL is sometimes/rarely called EG-0) and then go on to EG-1.
What I can't tell you is if normal EG(Solved Bar at the Back) or LEG(Solved Bar at the Left) is better. That depends on which algs flow better with you.

Some recommend EG-2, many today take the route of Anti-CLL/Anti-EG-1(that's the name of the Method) as it's a concept that doesn't introduce any new algs. It's for those that take 2x2 seriously enough to go for EG, but not seriously enough for Diag Cases.

After this, there's less of a clear path.
Most continue with TCLL.

As a tip, you can learn algs from different positions on the cube for the Ortega method. For example, instead of doing x2 or flipping the cube upside down, you can do an algorithm from the position the cube is already in, which could cut solve times. Here are some examples:

1 bar (bottom layer) on the back: R U' R' U' R' F2 U' R U R

1 bar (top layer) on the back: R' U R' F2 R F' R

2 bars on the back: R2 U' R2 U2 F2 U' R2

bottom layer solved+ no bar on top (this is faster than a Y perm): R U' R' U' F2 U' R U' R' U

top layer solved+ no bar on bottom: R U' R' U' F2 U' R U' R' U R2 B2

CLL first, then EG-1 second. I've learned CLL and am learning EG-1. It is easier to start with CLL Because some algs are shared with Ortega, and it will help you to get more efficient at making faces. And if you learn CLL, you 'instantly' know how to do Anti-CLL, which can be used for instead of EG-2.

Start with CLL, then learn anti-CLL.

After that you should learn EG-1.

This is all the algs you need to become world class at 2x2.

If you want to learn some more algsets, you can start by learning EG-2.

From there, you can either learn LEG-1 or TCLL.

After that, you can learn some good LS cases. (Full LS is not recommended)
