[Member Intro] Solving the 4x4 Rubik cube

 Twizzle link
 Setup
Rw2 R2 U2 Rw2 R2 Uw2 Rw2 R2 Uw2
 Moves
Rw2 R2 U2 Rw2 R2 Uw2 Rw2 R2 Uw2
I now have 2 adjacent edge pairs swapped and only 1 corner correct.

I think I can use this algorithm to solve the two blank edge pairs: r U2 x r U2 r U2 r' U2 l U2 r' U2 r U2 r' U2 r' correct?
No, that is when the top face is unsolvable. Forget about that algorithm now, as it isn’t for the current situation. Instead solve like a 3x3, and in case the cube is unsolvable normally, let us know

Hold the blue side in front with yellow on top and do this algorithm: R U R' U' Rw2 R2 U2 Rw2 R2 Uw2 Rw2 R2 Uw2 U' R U' R'
After that, you can solve it like a 3x3.

Thanks. You have parity, you need to do the parity algorithm first, then you can do one more algorithm to solve the whole cube.
I see there is a parity algorithm for 2 opposite edge pairs, I don’t see anything for adjacent edge pairs. Would you show the two algorithms I need?
Thanks,
Larry

Just hold the “headlights” to your right, (headlights shown in picture) and then do this algorithm: IMG_6432.jpeg

Hold the blue side in front with yellow on top and do this algorithm: R U R' U' Rw2 R2 U2 Rw2 R2 Uw2 Rw2 R2 Uw2 U' R U' R'
That swaps two adjacent edges, but it doesn't really matter which edges you swap, it will be solvable if you do the parity algorithm.
