[Member Intro] Solving the 4x4 Rubik cube

Hi, my name is Larry and I am trying to solve the Rubic 4x4 cube. I have all the edges paired and a all white top I have all inverted hats on all 4 side faces but the solution from wikihow.com doesn’t solve the middle layers at all (F’D’R’TDR) !
You solve it the same way you solve a 3x3 at the end. If you don't know how to solve a 3x3, I would recommend checking out either some videos or check out these resources here: https://gurshan-s-site.thinkific.com/courses/cubeclassroom

Ok, but I already know how to solve the 3x3 RUBIK’S Cube. I’ll check out your website. Basically, you tip the upside hats to the correct side. I’ll try it and see how it turns out.Is this the right idea?
Thanks,
Larry

What are upside down hats?
(F’D’R’TDR)
And what does T mean here?

I’m looking/reading at solving the last layer and I came across a notation in an algorithm I have no idea what it stands for. It is (x). . Also, can I solve the rest of the 4x4 cube like the 3x3 cube after the lower 3 layers are solved? Thanks for your help!
Larry

I put tape on edge pieces so I could track them for the edge pair algorithm. Do you want to see the white or yellow layer?
Thanks for responding!
Larry
