First Thing: CLL. Once you learn CLL you will be Sub-4 consistently if you have good layers and TPS.
With Ortega, I have a few tips:
1. On easy faces, predict OLL. You maybe can cancel and overall saves a lot of time from recognition. If you plan to one-look with EG in the future, this can help you with that, so it would be god to start now.
2. Once you plan your face (You should be one-looking your faces), try to recognize if the bottom is an adjacent swap, diagonal swap, or solved, because that can help with faster recognition for PBL. (For example, if it is solved, you know that it has to be either a skip T/Y Perm (I'm assuming that is what you use for Adj/Diag swaps.)
3. Learn how to do algs from other angles. J perm has some videos on this. If you plan to learn CLL, I guess learning this wouldn't that good of use but if you plan to learn CLL, but if you want to get fast with Ortega ASAP then this would be useful.

Very proud of my weekly comp 2x2 avg. The last solve was a 1.87 because i predicted an oll skip into diag/diag pbl.

I've just had a revelation- some of my PLL algs suck.

To be precise, Ga, Gb and V.

My fingertricks for certain PLL also suck, (Ra, Rb, and probably more)

So today i'm focusing on my PLL algs, and if i have time, learning 2 sided recog.

Welp.

I'm starting to fall down the megaminx rabbit hole. I learned westlund (its extremely easy, it only took 2 minutes) and i now have a face order (yellow, purple, green). My PB average is around 2:56, and my main issue is finding the pieces, even when looking for them while solving other pieces, but i'm aware it will come with practice.

Only 6 swaps for corners, no edges solved into the buffer and no parity, but because i memorized Earth for EF, it mested me up and i swapped E and T.
