So as some of you know, i've been developing a method for quite some time, and I wanted to publish it but because of lack of time I didn't.
I felt the need to post this as some other cubers had similar idea and I wanted to register the idea I had some time ago.
I didn't think too much on a name for the method, but for now I want to call it simply FT method. (Filipe Teixeira's method).

FT Method
Explanation: I was curious in developing a method that ended with pbl.
Methods like belt are like this, but people generally start by solving belt, then separate corners, separate edges, oll on top, oll on bottom, pll on top, pll on bottom.
That leads to problems of parity and lots of cases.
This method I'm proposing starts with one side, then you solve the E Slice, then you orient top layer and you're left with pbl with just one parity case (M2 U2 M2)
You can see it as a version of the ortega 2x2 method but on 3x3.
General outline:
1. Side
2. E Slice
3. OLL
4. PBL
The way I'm solving right now:
1.1. Side minus one corner
1.2. Solve first edge
2.1. Solve two edges with pseudoslotting (knock out one out for first pair, solve next pair)
2.2. Solve last edge while solving EO
3.1 Solve ocll to get a good cp next step (preferencially j/j, the easiest case to solve)
4.1. Solve corners
4.2. Make top edges either solved or phased
4.3. Rotate (z2/x2) and solve with algs from EPLL or OCELL (oriented subset)
L2 F2 U2 R2 U' F2 D B2 U F2 R2 F R' U' L' B F U B' U2 L
U F L' R F2 R2 F U l2 u' R2 U R' D' F' U' F u
d R' U2 R U' R' U R
L2 U2 L2 U2 L2
U2 L U L' U' f' L' f
U' F' r U R' U' r' F R
R2 U' R2 U D R2 D' R2 U
M U M2 U M2 U M' z2 M U' M2 U' M2 U' M' E'
----------
Pros of this method:
You have freedom on various steps
Cons:
You have to rotate on last step, but this can be fixed knowing more algs
solve a side like a non cuber
solve middle layer
solve oll
solve parity if needed (M2 U2 M2)
solve pll on top
x2 because rotations make solving faster
solve pll on bottom
alternatively you can do:
CP PBL
EP PBL
but I didn't generate the algs yet
I think I found a good way to do 2 look PBL on 3x3
First look you solve corner permutations on both layers + bottom layer phasing
(this first look will solve corners permutation and cause the bottom layer edges to be solved or have just one pair of edges swapped)
Second look you solve last edges permutation with one alg from EPLL or OCELL
Ok so I wanted to see what you guys can think of to solve 3x3 PBL efficiently. Scramble generator: https://filipeteixeira.com.br/pbl/ Click on "NEW PBL SCRAMBLE" to generate new pbl...
This is an example solve game to L8EP on 3x3 I want to see what you guys are capable of. Scramble generator: PBL Click on "NEW L8E SCRAMBLE" to generate new L8E case...
you can solve it like roux f2b, but with wrong colors, like this: (ignore top layer and M slice on this example, you will understand later)
z' R2 U2 R2
Imagine you want to make a white side, you can solve into that configuration
A white 1x2x3 side on left, a white 1x1x3 white stripe and any 2 top layer edges, in any orientation.
EDIT: if you do it any configurations you will have problems of parity later.
second block is 2gen
EDIT: actually... if you do it 2gen you will have problems of parity later.
EDIT: just solve a stripe on right with two yellow sides on ecuator and you should be fine (just like the first example on top)
then you solve the middle slice (df+db then last two edges)
then you will just join the white stripe with the edges on top and make the side, then you make a z' and you'll have the bottom side + middle slice
try it, it has lots of room for improvement and can be really fun
then you finish normally with oll, and pbl
z2 F2 U' L' U' D2 R2 D R2 F L' U2 R2 D2 B' L2 F2 B R2 U2 B' U2
z F2 L2 U F' U R U' R2 U2 B // pseudo fb
U r' U' R U R2 U' R2 U R U2 R' U' R //pseudo sb
M' U M U M2 U2 M' // fb+db
f R U R' U' f' U R U R' U R U2 R' U' // l2e
R2 U2 z' // finish
EDIT: actually is just roux with funny colors, LSE then you'll do z' and do oll, pbl
