My idea is to swap centers around like this

I managed to swap some centers but I can't go on without messing the rest.

Can anyone help?

U know one of the algs for 5x5 to swap 2 Center pieces?
Yes look what I posted on the twizzle visualization

But when i proceed to the e-slice I mess up the other centers

Because you're not straight swapping two centers but it's a 3cycle

Try this:
U2 F2 D R2 B2 D R2 F2 U2 B2 L' R' F' D' B2 F2 D R2 F2 U' Fw2 Rw2 F2 D2 R2 Bw2 Lw2 U Bw2 D2 Rw2 Dw2 Bw2 Rw2 Uw2 B Rw2 B2 Rw2 Fw2 L2 Uw2 L2 B R L U R2 Rw Lw D U Rw Lw F B Rw Lw Bw Fw Dw Uw Fw Bw
Quite long but it should work
thanks it works!
can you explain what the heck is going on?

another question, how to do that pattern on 6x6, 7x7 and up?

thanks it works!

5-phase reduction.

Bw' Fw' Uw' Dw' Fw' Bw' // LR centres
Lw' Rw' B' F' Lw' Rw' U' D' Lw' Rw' // other centres
R2 U' L' R' B' L2 Uw2 L2 Fw2 Rw2 B2 Rw2 B' // EO, FB centres half-turn-solvable
Uw2 Rw2 Bw2 Dw2 // E-slice tredges, LRFB centres in columns
Rw2 D2 Bw2 U' Lw2 Bw2 R2 D2 F2 Rw2 Fw2 // finish reduction
U F2 R2 D' F2 B2 D F R L B2 U2 F2 R2 D' B2 R2 D' F2 U2

(Almost looks like what my solver would spit out… except mine preferentially uses clockwise turns over anticlockwise turns so maybe not? Maybe it's Chen Shuang's solver instead (similar algorithm).)

edit: A shorter alg (45 OBTM):

thanks guys!

that really helped.

by the way @xyzzy , that alg was found with Chen Shuang's solver?

The 45-move one was found by my brain + Cube Explorer.

The first line flips six edges (10-move alg found with Cube Explorer); the first three lines is a partial commutator for flipping all 12 midges; the last line is superflip combined with checkerboard (19-move alg from Cube Explorer's website).

edit: I don't know anything about the origin of the longer one. It's probably not mine.
