I don’t think there’s a thread where more junior speedcubers can upload their reconstructions and get feedback from more senior cubers? Back when I averaged like 35 someone volunteered to look at a video of me cubing(I had no idea how to do a reconstruction) and sent me like 2 pages of feedback. But I guess here if people upload actual reconstruction links, other people can point out some places to improve etc?

If a thread like this already exists then my bad, I’ll delete this one, but if it doesn’t, is it a good idea?

I have added one of mine to start with. This was one of my luckier solves, I normally avg 23 due to rustiness but here I got an X-Cross and didn’t have to use 2 Look OLL (simple other OLL) so I got a 19.8. My solutions are normally bad so feel free to critique it openly. Anyone else with a solve can also post here

It would be easier to give feedback if there was a video, but I'll try. Cross looks good (except for the mistake with the D move), and the last layer algorithms look fine. However, you should use U moves instead of y rotations before OLL to adjust the angle. The F2L solutions can be more efficient though, and I think that's one of the most important things you need to improve if you want to become faster. Here's an example of how you could have done it better:

y2 x2 // Inspection
R' U D F2 L2 // XCross
R' U' R U2 R' U' R // 2nd pair
U' R U' R' U R U R' // 3rd pair
U' L U' L' U L U' L' // 4th pair
R U2 R' U' R U' R' // OLL
U2 R U R' U' D R2 U' R U' R' U R' U R2 D' // PLL

Hope it helps!

Edit: I wrote the wrong solution for the 4th pair, but fixed it now.

ok cool solve but

this scramble is an eo skip

got a 14.45 on the scramble using ZZ with no warmup

Warmup? Never done one of those. But I think I missed out with a good scramble. Just for context on the greatness of the scramble for zz, what’s your average?

Thank you so much. What do you mean by the mistake with the D move?

Oh. My bad. So I guess the best way of making my F2L better is just practicing? Do you advise going pair by pair slowly and trying to find options or just regular solving?
If you're serious about becoming faster, I would recommend learning how to pair up pieces more efficiently by looking up the best solutions. JPerm has a video that shows most of the important ones, and I would recommend starting from there:

Sorry to keep replying to you, but I purposely made it a reconstruction (the link has a virtual cube) to make it easier to see, opposed to a video. Do you reckon videos would still be better?

I average 19s when warmed up, pb is 12.56. Usually before I do an online competition I do like a warmup ao12 to get my hands warmed up and my mind in the game

Fair enough. I’m similar but slowed down a bit from that after leaving due to being out of touch. I guess it can help, especially as you use ZZ. Might try to do a but of PLL practice before I start a session

Videos, assuming the quality is decent and is at a good angle where people can actually tell what you’re doing (like over the shoulder or POV), along with the recons are better because it lets us see things the recon doesn’t show like fingertricks, pauses, etc

Some things (like fingertricks, cube tilting and pauses) are hard to tell from a reconstruction so it's hard to give feedback on everything, but if you don't want to focus on too many things at the same time, you can just practice efficient F2L solutions for a while, since that's definitely one of the most important things if you want to become faster.
